Hi. I'm a software engineer living in Seattle (previously SF). I'm interested in distributed systems, databases, operating systems, programming languages, and security. I'm best known for my PhD work on Raft, a distributed consensus algorithm designed to be easy to understand. I'm currently working on a new database at a stealth startup.
